At The Construction Collaborative, a preconstruction process begins at the inception of the project itself, when visionaries brainstorm feasibility, budgets, construction methods and logistics of a unique site. Whether we become involved with an acquisitions department and contribute to decision making during a due diligence phase, or are brought on board after a property is owned, it is never too early to begin preconstruction.
There are always opportunities to save money, and a preconstruction process is the best way to align the most economical materials, construction methods and overall approach with the budget and goals of the program. It is vital to start working with design teams early enough during schematic phases, in order to adequately manage budget and constructibility of a project before the team and process become overly committed. For the most cost effective approach, critical decisions often need to be made before the development of construction drawings, before permits are submitted and before construction physically starts in the field.
We are always excited to start a project early enough to make a positive impact. This includes: managing the design process, managing consultants, managing a bid process to involve a construction team early enough to be efficient, and ultimately making the construction process as seamless as possible before work begins.
