Ken Bernhard is the Founder and Principal of The Construction Collaborative. Prior to The Construction Collaborative, Ken began his career in California performing earthquake damage assessments for homeowners and insurance companies following the 1994 Northridge earthquake. This lead to forming his own residential construction firm building luxury homes and apartments throughout Malibu, Beverly Hills and Hollywood.

Ken then worked as a Project Manager for Advanced Structures Incorporated, a design-build engineering firm responsible for complex steel and glass structures. From there, he advanced his career at Bernards Construction as a Sr. Project Manager before becoming a Project Executive. In his 19 years at Bernards, he managed and successfully lead teams in the building of several large-scale Mixed-Use, Hospitality and Theme Park projects, as well Public Schools and Commercial projects throughout Los Angeles.

Most recently, Ken held the position of Vice President of Construction for Starpoint Properties, where he developed the new construction division of the company, launching new programs, projects and managing teams for several Multifamily, Industrial and Retail projects in California, Colorado and Arizona.

Ken brings 30 years of experience in the construction industry, managing the construction process, design teams, consultants, municipal agencies, estimating, bidding, negotiating contracts and change orders, as well as leading teams to success on high-profile and highly complex projects. His extensive experience with Multifamily, Hospitality, Industrial, Commercial, Educational and Luxury Homes resulted in projects totaling in excess of $1 billion in construction that he was directly responsible for managing and completing. Ken has worked for Fortune 100 firms, major public REITs and has been a trusted executive leading their projects.

Ken holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Technology from the New York Institute of Technology, majoring in construction management.
